Matthew Brown was a fat kid. Not one of those muscley, bully archetype fat kids. No, he was the truffle shuffle fat kid. Initially cooking was the means to an end: eating. Today, not quite as jiggley, cooking and experimenting with food is the driving force in his life. After obtaining his degree in Culinary Nutrition with dual concentrations in Food Science & Clinical Dietetics from Johnson & Wales Denver, he was brought on at Brewed Foods to help “do the science”.

Staple Beer: I’ll be burned at the stake for this, but as a recently graduated, but still broke AF post-college student, the most consistent brew (if you can call it that) found in my fridge is a little known beer called Pabst Blue Ribbon.

Always on hand: Mustard, bread & butter pickles, hoisin, otter pops

Favorite Pairing: Hot wings and an IPA

Words to Live by in this Crazy Industry: Don’t be afraid to fuck shit up. And then keep fucking shit up until you fuck shit up, but, like, in the good way.
